My Newfoundland Experience (Book Review)

This heartwarming biography was written to share the history of the brothers and sisters on the island of Newfoundland, Canada. For those who have ever experienced the warm hospitality of the St. John’s ecclesia, you will thoroughly enjoy reading this personal detailed journey of the growth of God’s Truth on this remote island.

The devotion of the brothers and sisters for gospel proclamation is deeply moving, and a reminder that gospel proclamation is not to be left for special efforts or ecclesial committees – we all have a responsibility to be an evangelist. (1 Tim. 4:5)

The book also was a strong reminder for us to carefully assess our own commitment to working in God’s vineyard to see how we are spending our time. Are we caught up in the lusts, cares and pleasures of this life during our “down time” on the evenings/weekends – or do we use our “free time” to get busy with the work of God? The commitment of the brothers and sisters to use every resource available to them to teach people the truth of the Bible is inspiring, even going so far as to attach loud speakers to their car to drive through the streets of small towns announcing public lectures!

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” 1 Peter 3:15
